Overview

Our Lady’s Little Christians is an early-learning program for children, three and four years-of-age, licensed by the Maryland State Department of Education, Office of Child Care. We adhere to all guidelines set forth by the Archdiocese of Washington. We are a nonprofit operation, funded solely by the tuition charged for each student.

We offer small class sizes, a weekly chapel service, an introduction to Spanish, an introduction to Sign Language, a two- or three-day program for three-year-olds, a five-day program for four-year-olds, and three-hour classes for all of our morning and afternoon sessions.

The goals of our program are as follows:

1. To foster growth and development (physical, social, emotional).

2. To foster skill development (knowledge, creativity, independence).

3. To create a spiritual atmosphere in which a positive self-image can be built.

4. To provide the best early childhood education for our students.

Our Lady’s Little Christians is guided and supported by an advisory board which consists of parents and parishioners of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church. The preschool board meets regularly. Meetings will be announced in the monthly preschool newsletters.

Program for Three-Year-Olds

AM Session: 8:30am – 11:30am

8 students – 3-day Session (Monday, Wednesday, Friday)

8 students – 2-day Session (Tuesday, Thursday)

PM Session: 12:30pm – 3:30pm

8 students – 3-day Session (Monday, Wednesday, Friday)

8 students – 2-day Session (Tuesday, Thursday)

Program for Four-Year-Olds

AM Session: 8:30am – 11:30am

16 students (Monday through Friday)

PM Session: 12:30pm – 3:30pm

16 students (Monday through Friday)

Registration

Year-round Registration Policy

-- All openings are available for next year on a "first come, first served" basis.
-- Openings in the five-day program for September 2010 may be filled only by currently enrolled students, students currently on a wait list, and registered OLHC parishioners until February 1, 2010 at which time they will be opened to the public.
-- Openings in the two-day and three-day programs may be filled one school year in advance at any time. They will be charged the tuition rate in effect at the time registration, fees, and one month's tuition for new students are paid.

Current Tuition Rates (as of February 18, 2009)
$140.00/month for PS 2-day (attend Tuesday, Thursday)
$180.00/month for PS 3-day (attend Monday, Wednesday, Friday)
$220.00/month for PS 5-day (attend Monday through Friday)

Fees (all fees are non-refundable)
Registration: $125.00
Mandatory school bag: $15.00
Activity fees: $25.00/year for 2-day; $30.00/year for 3-day; $35.00/year for 5-day

All fees and one month's tuition must be paid by July 15, 2010 to secure a seat in a September 2010 class. Registration continues until all classes are full.

Registration Procedures

-- New registrations require an appointment, and all paperwork is due before a child begins school.
-- Dated enrollment forms for new students and returning students may be submitted with payment at any time during church office hours.
-- Checks for all fees should be payable to "Our Lady’s Little Christians."
-- Bring a birth certificate and immunization record for all new students.
